People who suffer from TMD have a structural imbalance in their jaw-to-skull relationship caused by a bite that is out of alignment. This misalignment is known as malocclusion. How Does Neuromuscular Dentistry Help? The good news is that advances in the science of neuromuscular dentistry have taught us how to use appliances like The NTI, mouth guards and physical therapy to help with headaches, migraines and grinding. Periodontal disease is an infection of the gums and jawbones that is caused by the colonization of bacteria underneath the tartar on your teeth.
